Profile:
He is currently the Dean of the Computer School of Chengdu University of Information Engineering, the Director of Sichuan Numerical Weather Computing Engineering Technology Research Center, the Executive Deputy Director of Sichuan Graphic Image and Spatial Information 2011 Collaborative Innovation Center, and the Chinese Director of the Image and Vision International Joint Research Center of Chengdu University of Information Engineering. The main research directions are: image analysis and computational imaging, high-performance and parallel distributed computing, intelligent weather and numerical weather computing. At present, he is the candidate of Sichuan Qingcheng Plan, the winner of Sichuan Youth Science and Technology Award, the winner of Sichuan Outstanding Academic and Technical Leaders Fund, the backup candidate of Sichuan Academic and Technical Leaders, the vice chairman of Sichuan Computer Society, and the executive director of ACM China Computer Education Branch.
Dr. Wu Xi received his doctorate in information and communication engineering in 2012. He was jointly trained by Sichuan University and Vanderbilt University. From 2008 to 2010, he was engaged in the research of diffusion magnetic resonance computational imaging at the VUIIS, Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging Science, Vanderbilt University, 2011-2012 Engaged in high-dimensional image computing modeling research at the FMRIB, Oxford Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain, University of Oxford, UK. Dr. Wu Xi graduated from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and Sichuan University in 2006 and 2003, respectively.
Dr. Wu Xi has undertaken and participated in more than 20 internal medicine research projects under the National Key R&D Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, with an accumulated research fund of more than 10 million yuan. He has published more than 100 academic papers, including more than 50 SCI searches and 11 authorized invention patents.
Dr. Wu Xi is actively engaged in the internationalization of engineering education. He is the only parliamentary member from Asia of the International CDIO Engineering Education Organization and the local chairman of the 11th CDIO International Conference (CDIO 2015).
