The graphics and image research group currently has 2 professors and 4 associate professors. 80% of the staff in the group have an overseas study and work background. The group has been formed with a reasonable structure of professional titles, academic qualifications, age, and academic relationships. Relying on the 2011 Collaborative Innovation Center for Image and Geospatial Information of Sichuan Province, the graphics and image group focuses on the theoretical research of graphics and images, and cross-integrates with the new generation of information industries in Sichuan Province, such as satellite meteorology, medical information, and smart tourism, as well as the meteorological industry in our country to construct a theoretically innovative and engineering applicable platform for graphics and images from acquisition, processing to output.
The representative scientific research achievements include:
The group has long-term exchanges and cooperation with the Institute of Image Science of Vanderbilt University for nearly 10 years to jointly develop a big data image fusion analysis system. It has published more than 10 high-level scientific research papers in top journals nationally and internationally, such as Medical Image Analysis (IF=11.148), Neuroimage (IF=5.426), IEEE TRANSACTION ON BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING (IF=4.288), etc., and more than 10 oral papers in international conferences. Some of the results have become representative results in the field and been cited many times in reviews by internationally renowned journals such as NMR in Biomedicine (IF=3.446) and American Journal of Neuroradiology (IF=3.167).
In recent years, group members have undertaken a number of national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects including the "973 Program" project, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and more than a dozen horizontal scientific research projects from scientific research institutes and many companies. It obtained 5 invention patents. The related achievements won the first prize of Natural Science of the Ministry of Education and the second prize of Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award.
